Harvey Needs
Each day there has been a long line of people coming in for help after Harvey. It is nonstop for as long as we keep receiving people. In these conversations some hair raising stories come out.

In the meantime, we cannot go to the food bank because they have too many donations coming in. They have been tremendously helpful in bringing canned goods, fresh fruits and vegetables to us. We are very thankful for their help! Parishes and just ordinary people are helping with food and have helped with diapers.

Please bring food, specifically:

Tuna and canned meat, pasta, tomato sauce, canned vegetables, bread, cereal, sugar, cooking oil, mayonnaise, Similac baby formula (Blue).

Volunteers are needed during the day to bag beans and rice and maseca and to help distribute to those in need.

Other volunteers have come to help fix air conditioning when it goes out in one of our houses. There are repairs always going on.  In the meantime, we have our many guests to consider and care for. We feel a bit like being in the midst of a maelstrom.

Beds Needed
So many have lost their beds in the floods. Even if you are far away, perhaps you might consider one of the following from Amazon to have it shipped to our main location at 4818 Rose, Houston, TX 77007:

Rollaway single bed ($189.99)

Coleman Airbed – Cot – Queen ($149.99)

A great need in the coming days will be monetary contributions.  Financial donations  can be sent to P.O. Box 70113, Houston, TX 77270 – or donate here on our web site on the main page.
