Exhausted Catholic Workers rest with social distancing

Our CW’s at Casa Juan Diego, pictured below, are risking much to provide food to the poor and continue housing immigrants and refugees. One man walked from east Houston to receive food this morning because so many pantries have closed.

We are preparing many things also for the sick and injured each day, the paralyzed who come each month for help – in our parallel program to SSI, which immigrants cannot receive. With the downturn in the economy and donations, we do not know if we will be able to continue to keep the paralyzed off the streets. And we must care for the guests of our houses of hospitality and provide meals for them. Please help if you can.

Most of all, please keep our Catholic Workers and those we serve in your prayers during this difficult time.
